What time will 13 Reasons Why Season 4 be released?

On June 5, Netflix will release the last set of 13 Reasons Why episodes after midnight PDT, which due to daylight savings time is currently nine hours behind GMT. When episodes come to your country or territory will depend on your time difference from America’s west coast. The U.K., for example, will get episodes at 8:01 a.m. BST.

13 Reasons Why Season 4 will be slightly shorter than the previous three seasons, which as the title suggests each have 13 episodes. Asked by Entertainment Weekly why this season has less episodes than usual, showrunner Brian Yorkey said, “it served the story better, and 10 episodes ended up being the sweet spot for us.

“I was adamant going into season 2 that it had to be 13 because the show’s called 13 Reasons Why and if I’m a young viewer, I’m like, ‘13 reasons why but there’s only 10 episodes.’

“But at this point, heading into season 4 it was like, ‘We’ve given them 39 reasons why at least… It’s the right number, you’ll see that when we get to the end.”

Those “39 reasons why” are all available to watch on Netflix now, which is currently streaming the first three seasons of the show. The streamer is also streaming recaps for the first two seasons as well as a trailer for this final Season 4.

Asked by EW why the show is ending, Yorkie said: “Somewhere in the midst of making season 2, when it became clear that we might have the chance to make more seasons of this, I pretty quickly got to a place where it felt like a four-season story. I’m always a little bit suspicious of high school shows that go beyond four seasons because high school is four years long…And it felt like bringing these characters to their graduation and to scattering to their next things felt like the logical ending point.”

Speaking to PopSugar about the show ending and what 13 Reasons Why fans can expect from Season 4, star Alisha Boe said: “It’ll be very satisfying to see them graduate, for sure. You’ll definitely see them mature a lot this season and come into their own and decide what they want for their futures and what they’ve learned from the last couple of years of their high school experience. You’ll see more of a camaraderie.”
