It’s a fairly exclusive club considering only 50 players are Superstar X-Factors at any given time and another 30 are in a lower tier called simply Superstar, with a handful of offensive lineman receiving an ability only in Franchise Mode. The additional X-Factor given to that top 50 is specially activated when a player in in the “zone.”

For example, Aaron Donald can apply pressure on the quarterback even when engaged in a block. Philip Rivers will have his throw accuracy unaffected by pressure. Those players can be knocked out of the “zone,” which is important to creating competitive balance. The standard abilities that all of the Superstar players hold will always be present.
The Saints and Cowboys stand above the rest of the league. They have six Superstars apiece, with many of them X-Factors. The Chargers and Browns follow with five each. The Bears, Steelers, Texans and Vikings are also especially strong.
At the bottom of the league are the Bills, Cardinals, Dolphins and Titans, who don’t have any X-Factors and just a single Superstar. The Buccaneers, Giants and Lions are also on the weak end of the league.
